In 2004, we began representing injured federal employees in federal workers’ compensation cases as well as those federal employees seeking disability retirement. Since then, we have represented clients throughout the United States and around the world.
Michael P. McCready is the founder and managing partner of McCready, Garcia & Leet. He founded his own firm, the Law Offices of Michael P. McCready & Associates, in 1999, and it has been growing rapidly ever since. Mr. McCready’s knack for obtaining high-dollar results for his clients has earned him membership in the Million-Dollar Advocacy Forum, along with other trial lawyers who have won million-dollar awards for their clients. Mr. McCready is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States and federal courts as well as the states of Illinois, Indiana, and Virginia. He graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond in three years and received his law degree there in 1992. Following graduation, he served as a law clerk for a federal judge in Virginia before quickly rising to partner at a personal injury firm in Chicago. Mr. McCready is proud of the success of McCready, Garcia, & Leet and looks forward to many more years of winning justice for his clients.
Rogelio Garcia joined the Law Offices of Michael McCready and Associates in 2004 and became partner in 2009. In addition to his personal injury trial experience, he has an impressive history as a public defender in Cook County. After earning his law degree from Northern Illinois University in 1995, he worked as a public defender in the traffic division, juvenile division and then finally as a felony trial attorney at the Cook County Criminal Court Building. He has tried more than 200 bench trials and twenty five jury trials. He represents clients in a wide variety of personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. Mr. Garcia is fluent in spanish.
Stephanie N. Leet, a partner at McCready, Garcia, & Leet, initially joined our firm (then the Law Offices of Michael P. McCready & Associates) in June 2003 as a law clerk while attending DePaul University Law School. During this time, Ms. Leet also clerked for the Assistant State’s Attorney’s office, where she tried several criminal bench trials. After graduating from DePaul cum laude and passing the Illinois Bar Exam in 2004, Ms. Leet stayed on with the McCready firm as an associate, becoming partner in 2009. Ms. Leet also passed the Indiana Bar Exam and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. Stephanie heads our Federal Workers’ Compensation Department.
Edwin Reyes is known for his dedication to serving the community, as well as his extensive experience on both sides of the courtroom. After earning his BA from Loyola University and his law degree from Northeastern University, he handled daily bench trials for the City of Chicago’s Law Department as a prosecutor in the Traffic Division. Mr. Reyes then transferred to the Workers’ Compensation department, where he defended the city against claims filed by city workers. He has spent the past fourteen years helping injured workers obtain justice from their employers before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission (IWCC). He is fluent in Spanish. Edwin has received awards from numerous organizations for his community service involvement, including ASPIRA, the Puerto Rican Bar Association, Hispanic Lawyers of Illinois, and, most recently, the Vanguard Award from the Chicago Bar Association. Mr. Reyes is a member of the Puerto Rican Bar Association, Hispanic Lawyers of Illinois, the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation of Illinois. Edwin heads the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Department of McCready, Garcia & Leet.
Roger S. Hutchison is McCready, Garcia, & Leet’s resident specialist in disability claims, with deep and broad experience in all facets of Social Security disability law. He heads the Social Security and Disability Department for McCready, Garcia & Leet. Mr. Hutchison, who earned his BA from the University of Illinois and his law degree from Chicago-Kent Law School in 1992, has represented more than 2,000 Social Security disability claimants from Chicago, from Illinois, and around the country and has litigated disability claims against private insurers in federal court. He is a past chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Social Security Law Committee and a past officer and board member of the South Suburban Bar Association. He holds regular seminars to pass his expertise on to other Social Security disability attorneys. Although Mr. Hutchison handles Social Security disability claims at every level, he encourages clients to bring him into the process at the application level so that the claim will be properly structured from the very beginning. Mr. Hutchison believes in working hard for those who have worked hard, and prides himself on his direct communication with clients.
